Collaborative Story

One of the projects I have been working on was a collaborative piece with Aussie specfic author, Brendan Duffy. This was a great experience, as Brendan is someone’s whose writing I really admire, and I had never attempted anything like this before.

It was a suprisingly smooth process and I was thrilled with the end result. I am happy to announce that our story, “Just Like Cuckoo”, will appear in the upcoming Pill Hill Press anthology, “epocalypse: emails at the end”.

The only disagreement we had was over the title. I wanted “Like a Cuckoo’s Egg in the Nest of my Mind”, but in the end I bowed to Brendan’s seniority. 😛

My first anthology!

So, over the weekend I entered a short story in a writing competition run by Pill Hill Press, and to my delight, it made the final cut!

The anthology will be called “Flesh and Bone: Rise of the Necromancers” and looks like it has some great stories. You can find out more here.

As it’s a contest, I am not going to call this my first sale, but it is definitely a great start!

UPDATE: Woke up to an email this morning telling me that my story had been judged third out of 21 stories, so I am pretty thrilled!
